Our community's

response to hunger

The Community Kitchens of Birmingham

We are a nonprofit organization that has been working to close the gap in access to food, healthcare, mental health and addiction recovery referral services for the unhoused, underserved, and under represented in Jefferson County for over 44 years.

About Us

We pride ourselves on providing healthy, nutritious meals to those in need throughout the community. Whether you are facing homelessness, struggling to make ends meet, or just in need of a warm meal, our team of dedicated staff and volunteers are here to serve you. We offer meals at no cost to hungry residents, six days a week.

Our doors are open to all.

This accounts for 69% of the city’s total population.
